a. Wendy Parfrey Joins the CDL as Shared Content Analyst

Wendy Parfrey has been appointed to the position of Shared Content Analyst, effective January 23, 2003.

Most recently Regional Sales Director for My Road.com (now part of The College Board), Wendy has nearly twenty years of experience in the information industry.  Most notable is her extensive marketing experience in companies such as Dialog Information Services, Gale/Information Access Co., and Pearson/Computer Curriculum Corporation.  She brings to the CDL a strong record of success in team leadership, analysis, negotiation, and product development.  Wendy holds B.S. (biological sciences) and M.L.I.S. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. from St. Mary’s College.

At CDL, Wendy will use her experience “on the other side” to negotiate, on behalf of the University system, with vendors over a wide range of issues–business models, technical aspects, and other terms–in the acquisition of scholarly content.  She will coordinate content acquisition with CDL’s Services, Licensing, and UCSD branch and support the work of the CDL Joint Steering Committee on Shared Collections in product analysis, cost share modeling, and communication.
