  • EZID implemented a standard Open Archives Initiative, Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) interface, allowing external harvesting of the information we store for most of our identifiers. The full story is at CDLINFO News: http://cdlib.org/2014/12/15/ezid-oai-pmh/.OAI-PMH represents greater opportunities for clients’ content to be seen. Every time someone clicks on an EZID ARK or DOI, the target URL gets a “hit.” For information aggregators, the new interface opens up a treasure trove of new information to explore. Technical information about the interface is available here.
  • The EZID Team conducted a mid-year progress review and updated our 2014-15 Roadmap with information about where we are on implementing the feature enhancements and service improvements we listed:

EZID Service Description

EZID (easy-eye-dee) is a production service that gives researchers the ability to create and manage long-term identifiers so that they can to track usage, get credit for their work, share their data, and have the data reused for additional research. As a result, EZID identifiers also make it possible to increase citations, to build on previous work, to conduct new research, and avoid duplicating previous efforts.
