UC Monthly E-Resource Usage Reports Are Now Available Via MPSInsight for Libraries

mps
Monthly COUNTER usage reports for UC Libraries Systemwide licensed e-resources from 2010 to the present are now available via a link to MPSInsight for Libraries (formerly ScholarlyStats). ScholarlyStats was the brand name and platform under which MPS’s library statistics reporting module was marketed to libraries by Swets Information Services, which declared bankruptcy in September of 2014. When Swets’ financial difficulties were first announced, CDL staff took immediate steps to secure our usage data and evaluate options for continued usage reporting. MPS, based in India with U.S. offices, has a long history of providing usage statistics services to both publishers and libraries, and we believe it will continue to provide effective usage statistics aggregation services to libraries under its own name and platform.

Since MPS had produced ScholarlyStats for Swets, all UC usage data remains intact on the new MPSInsight platform. Our current subscription is in place until the end of March 2015, and CDL Collections staff is working with MPS to extend our subscription through March 2016. More information on MPS services for both publishers and libraries can be found at: https://www.mpsinsight.com/.

There are new campus-level MPS Library Account Logins on the MPSInsight platform. Individual usage reports are available for all 10 campuses, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore Laboratory. Aggregated reports are also available at a UC systemwide level. Besides COUNTER reports, various custom reports are available, for example, a list of the most highly used titles, average use per title, etc.  Fourteen additional publisher platforms have been added to our UC account. In total, there are 49 publisher platforms available.

Login information and the monthly usage reports can be accessed at:
