Background

Barbara's work lies at the intersection of the humanities and digital technology: she holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and has also been a computer programmer for many years. Before coming to the CDL, she worked at the UC Humanities Research Institute, and was also a developer on several digital humanities projects including Hypercities and The Danish Folklore Data Nexus.
