EZID Service Manager
Manager, Strategic and Project Planning
Joan manages the EZID service at CDL, a service that makes it easy to create and manage unique, persistent identifiers. Joan collaborates with members of an international consortium as well as engaging local stakeholders, including researchers, libraries, data centers, archives and repositories.
Joan is also Manager of Strategic and Project Planning. She works closely with the Executive Director and CDL senior managers on strategic planning for CDL as a whole and for Program-specific planning, as appropriate. She coordinates CDL's Internship Program, and she provides oversight for the University of California Systemwide Library Planning function.

Joan came to CDL in 2006 from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco where she was a Senior Project Consultant in the Information Technology Services Department. She helped create a central project management function at the Bank, including the evaluation and implementation of a software tool for project management. She also worked with project managers to capture project documentation and enable measures of progress. Her previous position at CDL was as Manager of Project Planning and Resource Allocation.
