Research Data Specialist / DMPTool Service Manager
Stephanie Simms is responsible for technical, educational, and policy-related support for the DMPTool. She works with the UC campuses as well as research institutions, organizations, and funders in the U.S. and abroad to provide training for research data management and promote open scholarship.

Prior to joining the CDL Stephanie spent a year at the UCLA Charles E. Young Research Library and Center for Digital Humanities as a CLIR Postdoctoral Fellow where she worked on research data management and geospatial data initiatives. Before then she conducted archaeological field research in Mexico and Guatemala focused on reconstructing past human-environment interactions and food practices. Stephanie also has experience in academic publishing; she was the Managing Editor of the Journal of Field Archaeology and a Journal Fellow during her graduate studies.
