Travel to Mission Bay Conference Center
There are several options to get to the Mission Bay Conference Center. If you take a taxicab, the address is 1675 Owens St. It is also known as the William J. Rutter Center on the UC San Francisco campus at Mission Bay.
Travel via Muni
Muni is the San Francisco Municipal Transportation system, and includes bus, trams, streetcars, cable cars and underground trains. Unfortunately, it's not a well integrated system, so it's important to choose the correct transportation line. See the Muni website for more information. Read below for detailed instructions to get to the Mission Bay Conference Center.
The Mission Bay Conference Center is served by the T-Third Street Muni line. This is a mixed underground/surface tram. There are underground stops along Market Street in downtown San Francisco. These stops are shared with BART, the regional train system that goes to the San Francisco airport, Berkely and Oakland.
Once you're below ground, be sure to enter the Muni side, not the BART side.
The one-way fare is $2. Exact change is required, either dollar bills or coins. The underground stops, at Powell, Market, and Embarcadero, accept only coins, and have changers for dollar bills.
Passes for 1, 3 and 7 days are available, and are also good for the cable cars.
Keep your ticket once you buy it. You may be asked to show it again.
Once you are on the platform, look for the in-bound T-Third tram toward Sunnydale/Bayshore. There are monitors that display when the next tram will arrive.
Exit at the UCSF Mission Bay stop. Turn right upon exiting the tram, cross 3rd St., and head down the Gene Friend Way to the Mission Bay Conference Center.
