Usage Statistics Reports: Tier 1 & Tier 2 Resources

There are two types of usage statistics reports: one by month and one by year

Monthly ScholarlyStats Usage Reports:

ScholarlyStats is a service licensed by CDL that provides a single point of access to standardized consolidated usage statistics reports from many of the largest and most important publishers and database providers. Currently, the most up-to-date monthly COUNTER usage reports are posted on ScholarlyStats for the 10 UC campus library accounts and a CDL consortial account. Begining in 2008, two new ScholarlyStats accounts will be added to our service: Lawrence Livermore National LaboratoryLlibrary and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Library.The CDL consortial account to ScholarlyStats provides aggregated usage statistics; each individual UC library account provides campus and laboratory level statistics reports. Annual Usage Reports:

CDL compiles annual UC systemwide and campus-by-campus aggregated usage statistics for Tier 1 and Tier 2 journals and databases by calendar year. Since 2004, two types of reports are included for each year:

• Ejournal articles viewed by campus
• Database searches and sessions by campus

For the previous years, other types of reports may be included. The annual reports contain broader coverage of resources than does the ScholarlyStats reports. Some resources included here are not covered by ScholarlyStats service at present. In addition, the aggregated annual reports represent a better consortial view of all the campuses data with two years trends. Even the CDL reports are selective, however, and not every publisher or vendor provides usage statistics. CDL will monitor usage for newly licensed resources. Any suggestions for titles to be included on the resource list are welcome.
