Notification of Circ Server Downtime

When your campus library's Z39.50 server will be unavailable for more than 2 hours, CDL should be given advance notice. This notice should be given at least 48 hours in advance, though less is acceptable in extreme emergencies.

• Email Michael Thwaites (michael.thwaites@ucop.edu) or Margery Tibbetts (margery.tibbetts@ucop.edu) and Jayne Dickson (jayne.dickson@ucop.edu) and cc: cdl@www.cdlib.org at least 48 hours ahead of the scheduled downtime.
• OR, call Michael Thwaites (510.987.0556) or Jayne Dickson (510.987.0550) or the CDL Helpline (510.987.0555) at least 48 hours ahead of the scheduled downtime. If you get voicemail for Michael or Jayne, call the CDL Helpline. If less than 48 hours before the scheduled downtime, call the CDL Helpline.

Whether emailing or calling, be sure to include the following information.

1. Specify the date and estimated start and stop times of the system maintenance.
