Collection Policy: UC Websites

Maintained by Digital Special Collections

Version 1.0
March 2009
Reviewed and Updated Semi-Annually

Scope

This policy serves as a framework for developing collections of citations to UC-created websites for display in Calisphere.

Who Can Submit URLs

All UC faculty, staff members, or students may submit URLs to UC-created websites, which will be reviewed for inclusion based on compliance with this policy.

What Types of UC Websites Can be Submitted

All URLs must lead to UC-created websites that contain digital images, audio/visual resources, full text documents (such as oral histories, biographies, etc.), or collections or exhibits of digital objects.  Websites that are comprised solely of metadata will not be included (e.g., bibliographic records, annotated bibliographies, lists of resources linked to external websites, etc.). We are accepting websites documenting all possible subject areas.

All websites must be freely available to the public.

The following web resources are out of scope for inclusion in Calisphere:

  • Collections/exhibits created by UC students
  • Course websites that are solely syllabi or a description of the course
  • Departmental websites that are solely information about the department
  • Websites for conferences, forums, etc. sponsored by UC institutions that are solely descriptions of the event
