Prospective Shared Print Monographs Tool Kit

Here, you'll find information to assist with preparing proposals for prospective Shared Print monograph collections.

See sections below:

Collecting Strategies

The cooperative development of shared monograph collections allows UC Libraries and its partners to optimize resources in order to acquire the broadest, richest research collections possible.  UC Libraries’ collecting strategies are aligned with purchasing channels for monographs and the specific goals, criteria and model defined for each channel.

  • Print Monograph Purchasing Streams prioritized [DOC].  In general, print monographs can be acquired through three major channels: from a primary monograph vendor, from international agents and through a programmatic approach to collecting electronic books with print copies. UC Libraries have prioritized these three streams for cooperative action to guide future efforts for CDL Shared Print.
