Discovery & Delivery provides technical guidance and management of these services for CDL's Collection Development & Management Group.

IP Address Service

The CDL maintains a database of UC IP addresses. One of the uses of the database is to send lists of UC IP addresses to licensed content vendors so access can be restricted to valid UC users. It is also used by CDL applications to restrict access to their services.

PID Resolution Service

The PURL resolution service allows UC Libraries to create a persistent identifier (PID) for CDL-licensed content, open access resources, California state government documents, and other URLs. This service uses a modified version of OCLC's PURL software.
